ALLEGAN (WKZO-AM) — Two west Michigan men have been busted following a raid at a large-scale marijuana-growing operation at a home off M-40 south of Allegan.
Tips initially led members of the West Michigan Enforcement Team to the site in mid-April, where a strong scent of weed was noticed. Utility records also showed “abnormally high” electrical use to power indoor lights and ventilation.
The drug enforcement officers waited two months to raid the address, finding 227 plants and 40 pounds of processed pot.
Ernest Arias and Josue Salazar have been arrested and are free on bond, pending a grand jury indictment and November arraignment.
