BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A person of interest in the Craigslist ambush on Linwood in Battle Creek has been formally charged on an unrelated count for threatening a Michigan Department of Human Services worker in 2012.
Christian Logan, 23, and two other suspects are accused of luring Jon Vanderweil and his father to an abandoned home in the 600 block of Linwood Avenue using an online classified of a vintage Chevrolet Chevelle for sale.
The suspects, according to police, hit the father and son with mace. Vanderweil pulled out a concealed pistol and, after a warning, opened fire, wounding two of the armed robbers.
The Vanderweils reportedly had $8,000 cash in the trunk of their car to make the purchase.
