BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Police have released the names of two people who were injured when a car turned into the path of a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon.
They say the 58-year-old driver was eastbound turning left off Columbia Avenue onto Helmer Road, when the bike, which was going westbound through the intersection, hit the car in the passenger-side door. That’s where 61-year-old Michael Hurth of Battle Creek was sitting.
Both Hurth and the motorcyclist, 44-year-old Steven Reed, were transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Hurth was last listed in critical condition, while Reed was in serious condition.
The wreck remains under investigation and citations or charges could result.
