KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo Township Police need your help to locate two men who may be involved in the theft of Catalytic Converters from the West Side of the Kalamazoo metro-area.
Township Police Chief Tim Bergeois says they believe the scrappers started early Friday morning, stealing the emission control devices from Chevy Cavaliers in the parking lots of apartment complexes along Kendall Avenue and on West Main, and did not quit until they were seen making a hasty departure from a parking lot at about 2 pm Friday.
The first suspect was a male in his mid-20’s with a short beard, thick rimmed glasses and a black jacket that read “Security” in white lettering. He was seen leaving in a gray Volkswagen.
The second suspect was also in his mid-20’s with a dark complexion driving an older white Chevy Pick-up with a rusted tailgate.
Township Police are working with Kalamazoo Public Safety and County Deputies who all report similar crimes in the areas they serve on the west side.
