KABUL, AFGHANISTAN (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo County airman is dead after the crash of a British Royal Air Force helicopter in Afghanistan.
The Michigan native is one of two Americans who died in Kabul on Sunday.
The Pentagon has not released information about any American deaths, but family members have confirmed on social media that U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Greg Kuhse died when the helicopter crashed while landing.
British military officials say the crash was an accident and not the result of insurgent activity.
Kuhse was a 1995 graduate of Comstock High School. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1996 and was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.
