CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputy has admitted to driving drunk and possessing a firearm while intoxicated.
Noemi Garza, 32, entered a pair of guilty pleas Tuesday.
She was arrested after a two-car crash at Douglas Avenue and Forbes Street in Kalamazoo on June 13.
Prosecutors say she drove a block from the scene of the wreck, then tried to walk away from officers. She then berated a Kalamazoo Public Safety officer, tried to wriggle out of her handcuffs and kicked the door of a squad car after being arrested, but later apologized for her actions.
Garza still has a job with the county’s corrections department.
