BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Binder Park Zoo has kicked off one of its most-important annual fundraisers.
This year’s Zoo Boo includes a bit of everything, including an Africa-themed haunted hay ride, mazes and games.
“There’s going to be yummy fall foods, trick-or-treating — it’s a great time to get the kids dressed up and come out, and a lot of times, it’s a tradition for families,” zoo spokesperson Kari Parker said.
Parker said the zoo would have trouble operating through the off-season if not for the Zoo Boo.
“It helps feed and care for the animals all winter long, so, when we do close for the season, it’s the Zoo Boo and other events that we’re having that carry us through the winter months.”
The event runs Wednesdays through Sundays through Oct. 30.
