PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Police say a man is jailed after fleeing from a traffic stop in Portage.
Portage Public Safety says it happened before 3:30 a.m. Monday. Investigators say he tore down South Westnedge Avenue, turned onto Milham Avenue, then stopped in a residential area just long enough to let a passenger out.
He then continued to flee police.
He turned onto Kirkwood Avenue, then abandoned the car and fled on foot.
The 34-year-old Portage resident is being held for driving on his second driving with a suspended license offense. He also picked up fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest charges.
