KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo City Commission has come out in support of a proposed tax that would help 600 homeless families in Kalamazoo County.
The vote was a unanimous 6-0 on Monday, with one member opting to abstain.
Voters will head to the polls Nov. 3 to decide whether to approve the 0.1-mill levy, which would raise $800,000 annually for temporary housing assistance and other services to help homeless families with children find a permanent place to live.
