PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says distracted driving apparently led to a two-vehicle on Monday afternoon in Pennfield Township which injured three persons.
They report it happened at approximately 4:52 p.m. in the area of M-66 and Swift Road.
The Sheriff’s Department an investigation determined a SUV traveling south crossed over the center line and struck a 4-door passenger vehicle traveling north.
The driver of the SUV was identified as a 26-year-old man. He sustained injuries to his lower extremities.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was identified as a 20-year-old man. He was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by fire personnel. He suffered injuries to his lower extremities.
There was also a 16-year-old female in the rear passenger seat of this vehicle who suffered injuries as well.
All were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Pennfield Township Fire and Life Care Ambulance.
