KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan University will snip the ribbon on its newly-renovated original classroom and administrative building Friday.
The dedication of Heritage Hall will make this one of the best homecomings the university has thrown in years.
The building has been refurbished on the outside and rebuilt on the inside to create a structure specifically designed to serve alumni and the community. It also restores not only the view of the community from the top of Prospect hill, but the original 1905 view of the East Portico of the structure from the community below.
The events at Heritage Hall this homecoming weekend include an official ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. with speeches and an open house until 4 p.m. Friday.
Tents have been set up with displays, snacks and other attractions on the grounds. Because parking will be limited, they will be running shuttle buses to the event. More information can be found here.
There will also be self-guided tours through the homecoming weekend from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
