KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A traffic stop turned into a weapon and drug bust for Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers Saturday evening.
It happened around 10:37 p.m. when officers conducted the stop in the 700 block of North Church Street. During the stop, the driver was arrested on a valid warrant. Upon further investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics.
Two loaded handguns were also found during a search of the vehicle.
Two 36-year-old Kalamazoo residents were arrested on multiple weapons offenses and narcotics related charges. Both are lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting arraignment.
