KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A fire in a home in Kalamazoo’s Vine Neighborhood is being blamed on a candle falling onto a sofa, but remains under investigation.
Kalamazoo Public Safety responded quickly to a 911 call that came in at about 7:20 p.m. Friday from the home at 717 W. Cedar Street.
They were able to contain the flames to the room where the fire began.
The fire caused several thousand dollars damage, but left most of the structure unaffected once the smoke from the fire was ventilated.
There were no injuries.
