KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A crash at the Sprinkle Avenue and Interstate 94 construction zone has left a 93-year-old man from Paw Paw and his 92-year-old wife in the hospital.
The crash occurred in the westbound lanes of the freeway before 6 p.m. Sunday.
The elderly driver failed to move to the left and slammed into temporary construction barriers, which sent their car flying into the air. The car crashed to the pavement in the traffic lanes and was hit by a pick-up truck transporting four people from Illinois, none of whom were injured.
The car with the elderly couple slammed back into the median barrier and came to rest against the wall on the other side of the highway.
The Paw Paw couple were last listed in serious condition with multiple injuries.
