KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan University head football coach P.J. Fleck expects his team to be ready for its first mid-week game of the season against in-state rival Eastern Michigan.
“We know we got a game at 7 o’clock, period,” Fleck said. “And we’ll show up ready to play.”
Fleck says WMU must do the little things right to beat the 1-7 Eagles in Ypsilanti.
“We’ve got to be able to take care of the football,” Fleck said. “We’re minus two in the turnover margin, we’ve got to get back to the plus.”
“We can’t let circumstance dictate our behavior in any part of this,” Fleck said. “The trophy, the rivalry, the away game — it doesn’t matter.”
The Broncos are coming into the game on a three-game winning streak.
