BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Police responded to Claude Evans Park just before 8 p.m. on Saturday where they found a 16-year-old with a gunshot wound.
The teen was taken to the hospital with what police are calling non-life-threatening injuries.
One witness, who lives near the park, telling News Channel 3 they counted at least 23 gunshots. Authorities say the victim is refusing to cooperate with investigators.
The investigation is ongoing, but the public is not believed to be in any danger.
Police said there did not seem to be any additional witnesses to the shooting, therefore, the Battle Creek Police Department is asking anyone who may have information to give them a call or to call Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
