LANSING, MI — People have now marched on the state Capitol in Lansing seeking justice for 26-year-old Patrick Lyoya, who was killed by a Grand Rapids police officer this month.
Lyoya’s parents live in Lansing. His father, Peter, and mother moved here when they came to the U.S. from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2014 to escape imminent danger.
Demonstrators on Thursday at the Capitol demanded the so far unidentified police officer be identified, charged, and prosecuted.
