KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University officials say that 16 new cases of coronavirus were reported Friday, August 21. Students have been moving back on campus for the beginning of classes Wednesday.
Officials at the Sindecuse Health Center said the cases were reported during a 2 week period beginning August 9.
Since March, 69 people have tested positive at Western.
A university spokesperson stated that, even though new cases have been reported, the likelihood of being exposed to the virus on campus is still much lower than other places in Kalamazoo County.
