KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A 16-year-old Kalamazoo teen who police say shot his father at a residence on Vernon Court on Sunday turned himself on Tuesday, April 12.
According to a news release from Kalamazoo Public Safety, the suspect came into Kalamazoo Public Safety Headquarters and surrendered himself to Police.
The 16-year-old suspect is currently lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home awaiting arraignment.
Authorities say he was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearm.
The 35-year-old victim remains hospitalized in critical condition but is expected to survive.
