NEW YORK (WKZO) — Dr. Ben Carson’s status as the front runner in the Republican Presidential derby has earned him the kind of scrutiny and speculation that comes with the position, and he’s not holding up well.
Investigative reporters have found that some of the claims he has made about his violent childhood in Detroit and some of the other stories he has included in biographies and in speeches about winning a scholarship to West Point have come under question.
Carson attacked the press for the revelations, but the pundits say it will be Donald Trump and the other candidates to use the allegations to put a dent in Dr. Carson’s credibility.
That may not be Carson’s biggest problem. A survey of leading political operatives, strategists and activists in four of the leading primaries in both parties done by Politico say his lack of depth on policy issues is his biggest failing.
80-percent of the Republicans and 94-percent of the Democrats surveyed say it will be his undoing, and they say there is no way he will get the nomination.
