BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — It will probably take an autopsy to positively identify the victim of a fiery solo-car crash in Berrien County late Saturday, investigators said.
Deputies say it appears the car left the pavement near the intersection of Tabor and River roads in Sodus Township sometime just before 8 p.m. and crashed into several irrigation lines on a farm.
The damage to the vehicle created a fuel leak that caught fire. Arriving emergency crews say the vehicle was fully involved in flames when they rolled up.
They only discovered there was a body in the driver’s seat when the flames were extinguished. The investigation is ongoing.
