BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — There has been another data breach at a casino in west Michigan.
This time, the Four Winds Casino is saying anyone who may have been in one of their facilities in New Buffalo, Hartford or Dowagiac between October 2014 and October 2015 may have had their credit or debit card information stolen by hackers.
They say they were notified by their bank that a pattern of unauthorized charges were being levied against customers of the casino.
The hackers had apparently installed a program on the casino’s payment network that copied customer names, card numbers, expiration dates, and any other data stored on the card’s magnetic strip.
Four Winds says it has implemented enhanced security to prevent a repeat.
FireKeepers Casino reported in July that the credit information of 85,000 of its customers may have been compromised by hackers.
Both are telling customers to keep a close watch on their credit statements.
