KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The organization behind the Kalamazoo Promise has brought officials from across the country together who have started up similar scholarship programs.
Also attending the three-day conference, communities that would like to start up such programs.
It’s called “PromiseNet 2015,” and its being staged at the Radisson. It’s getting a little more attention this year because it’s the 10th anniversary of Kalamazoo’s scholarship program.
Participants will be exposed to the different ways communities fund their programs, best practices, how such programs can be integrated with the business community and how to get the community behind similar scholarship programs.
It’s a learning experience for those who are usually in the business of teaching.
It gets underway on Tuesday and runs through Thursday.
