KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — National Public Health Week kicked off on Monday, April 4, and the Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department is inviting all residents to join in the observance of the week.
During the week, the KCHCS Facebook page will focus on those daily heath themes that speak directly to the unique and pressing public health issues and social determinants facing Kalamazoo County and the nation. The themes can be found on the National Public Health Week website with information and resources about the topics and how residents can get involved.
“Public health plays a role in every aspect of our lives,” says Deb Lenz, Acting Health Officer of Kalamazoo County. “We are always working, crisis or no crisis, to help ensure that everyone in the community has access to the resources they need to live a long, healthy life.” “
