KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Tension continues on the Western Michigan University campus between the Board of Trustees, the administration, and its various teachers unions. A rally is planned by Teachers Assistants this afternoon.
One thing that upsets them off is the recent raise given by trustees to President Edward Montgomery.
TAU President Thomas Fisher says the raise was given while the University pleads poverty at the bargaining table.
The 2:30 p.m. rally will take place outside the Fetzer Center, where bargaining is slated to take place.
President. Montgomery received a 1.5% raise, bringing is salary to over $490,000 and was also given a $75,000 bonus by the WMU Board of Trustees.
