KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Is there discrimination in Kalamazoo’s City Hall?
A 155 page report done by a non-profit called the Center for Health Equity Practice found no overt racism, but said there are cultural deficiencies, and no written plan for improving diversity, equity and inclusion.
They say the staff continues to be dominated by white males, particularly in leadership positions. But the consulting group also says the city has taken the important first steps to address the issue.
Kalamazoo City Commissioners will receive a presentation and hear the group’s recommendations this afternoon.
