KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – 50 teams and over 700 players from across the country are in Kalamazoo this weekend as part of one of the top youth tournaments in the nation.
Kalamazoo Optimist Hockey Association (KOHA) has been chosen to host the USA Hockey Youth Tier II 14U National Championships in Kalamazoo began Thursday and runs through Monday, April 4.
Organizers says this is one of USA Hockey’s largest and most exciting National Championship events, as it is the first time the participants have an opportunity to compete for a National Championship title.
Round Robin games are taking place at both Wings Event Center, home of the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings, and Wings West Ice Arena.
The championship games will take place at Wings West Ice Arena Monday.
