OTTAWA COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — Michigan State Troopers have taken over the investigation of a collision between an Ottawa County Sheriff’s cruiser and a car full of teens Saturday night at 104th Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive in Ottawa County’s Robinson Township.
It happened before 8 p.m. when an 18-year-old from Zeeland pulled from a stop sign, apparently did not see the police cruiser and collided with it.
He may be cited. A 16-year-old female passenger had to be pried out of the car. She has been upgraded from serious to stable condition.
The three other teens, two deputies and an inmate they were transporting to the Ottawa County Jail all suffered minor injuries and are expected to recover.
