BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Calhoun County Jury will resume deliberations Thursday in the trial of a man charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting ex-girlfriend
Angela Bass claims Brett Baldridge began to stalk her and would not leave her alone after she called the relationship quits.
It came to a head when prosecutors allege he broke into her apartment in Marshall with a shotgun while she slept two days before Christmas last year, and, after an argument, shot her in the leg.
The defense has conceded he shot her but contends he didn’t intend to kill her.
They claim his original intent was to shoot himself. He also faces two gun felonies, a home invasion count and aggravated stalking.
