KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo canceled it’s no body contact advisory issued for Woods Lake by Oakland Drive and Parkview Avenue on Monday, March 21.
The city had issued the advisory on Friday, March 18th due to a sanitary sewer overflow from a broken sewer pipe.
Officials from the Kalamazoo County Environment Health Unit confirmed recent samples submitted by the Department of Public Services Wastewater Division were satisfactory enough to cancel the advisory.
The amount of material discharged from the overflow was estimated to be about 5,500 gallons.
