BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek man who was arrested for driving while under the influence of marijuana picked up an additional drug-smuggling charge after a tennis ball-sized bag of crack cocaine was found in his pants at the Calhoun County Jail.
Investigators say the 25-year-old was spotted driving erratically near Roseneath Avenue and Howland Street before 8 p.m. Tuesday and was cuffed after telling police that, in an effort to hide the evidence, he ate the joint he was smoking just before the traffic stop.
The crack was found as the man was being booked into jail.
