CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Three Rivers man and women were medically flown to Bronson Methodist Hospital after having to be extracted from the vehicle they were in following a crash in Cass County on Thursday evening, March 17.
Deputies responded around 10 p.m. to the crash on M-40 Highway south of Pioneer Street in Marcellus Township.
Initial investigation shows that 33-year-old Linda Navarro of Three Rivers was traveling south on M-40 Highway when the vehicle she was driving crossed the center lane, left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
34-year-old Felipe Navarro of Three Rivers was the front seat passenger of the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both Linda and Felipe had to be extricated from the vehicle and were evaluated by Emergency Medical Personnel. Linda was transported by MedFlight to Bronson Methodist hospital. Felipe was transported by Air Care to Bronson Methodist hospital.
Seat belts were worn and it is unknown at this time if alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in this crash. This crash remains under investigation.
Assisting agencies in this crash were Marcellus Ambulance, Newberg Ambulance, Three Rivers Ambulance, Marcellus Fire, Newberg Fire and the Michigan State Police.
