INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WKZO-AM/FM) – Big Ten regular season co-champions Illinois and Wisconsin are both out at this year’s conference tournament in Indianapolis. Michigan State posted a 69-63 win against the Badgers as Sparty’s bench outscored Bucky’s 18-1. Marcus Bingham Jr. led MSU with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Tyson Walker had 11 points and 7 assists.
One day after eliminating Michigan, Indiana took out the top-seeded Illini 65-63. Purdue beat Penn State 69-61, and Iowa eliminated Rutgers 84-74.
This afternoon in the tournament semifinals, it will be Indiana against Iowa, followed by Michigan State vs. Purdue.
Tonight, Akron faces Kent State in the MAC Championship Final.
The brackets for this year’s NCAA Tournament will be unveiled Sunday night.
