Study shows 3% of households in Kalamazoo metro area as military households

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) —  A new report from Filterbuy is out featuring locations in the U.S. with the most military families.

While fewer Americans hold positions in the U.S. Armed Forces than in years past, a large number still have direct ties to the military, with  3.2% of the population living in a military household.

Researches analyzed the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau and ranked metro areas according to the percentage of the population in a military household, defined as one in which at least one household member currently serves in the active duty military, Reserves, or National Guard.

The analysis found that 3.0% of the Kalamazoo population lives in military households.
