KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man is in the Kalamazoo County Jail after being arrested for numerous felony charges.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended the suspect on Monday while responding to a Domestic Violence report where the man had left the scene before police arrived.
Initial investigation by deputies turned up nine active warrants on the suspect, five of them for felony cases, with three being assautive in nature.
Authorities say the suspect had also fled from different agencies in Kalamazoo County over the last two months.
Deputies observed the suspect in a vehicle and tried to stop him at Mount Olivet and East G Avenue in Cooper Township at around 3:30 p.m. According to deputies, the suspect sped away, lost control of his vehicle and struck a light pole at a business, before trying to flee on foot.
The suspect was arrested and lodged on six new felony charges plus his nine current bench warrants.
A passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for multiple warrants as well as three new felony charges.
