KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Mayor Bobby Hopewell says the newly-elected Kalamazoo City Commission members are starting to gel with the rest of the commission just weeks after being elected.
“They’re getting their sea legs, they’re working and learning with each other and from the rest of the commission, and certainly from the administration and staff,” Hopewell said.
He also said he expects the group to do good work in 2016.
Newcomers Shannon Sykes, Erin Knott and Matt Milcarek were sworn into office Nov. 10.
Hopewell says the group is expected to begin preliminary budget talks next month.
