KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Hockey fans are being encouraged to toss a wave of new teddy bears and other stuffed animals onto the ice at Wings Event Center after the Kalamazoo Wings notch their first goal against the Toledo Walleye on Sunday.
Wings head coach Nick Bootland says it’s part of the team’s “Family Day” promotion.
“Myself and a few of our players will be taking them to the Bronson Children’s Hospital, trying to put a smile on a few of those faces,” Bootland said.
Puck drop for Sunday’s home game is set for 4 p.m. The game will be carried on WKZO-AM in the Kalamazoo area.
