PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Investigators in Portage need your help to identify a man and a woman who were reportedly laundering counterfeit money, turning the phony currency into real cash by using the bills to purchase money orders at local businesses.
Investigators say they would then use the money orders later in the day to make legitimate purchases.
They were able to capture photos two suspects on surveillance cameras.
They say the counterfeit bills were better than average, but a close examination revealed them to be fakes.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Portage Department of Public Safety at 329-4567 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
