KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 51-year-old Kalamazoo Township woman is hospitalized in stable condition after police say she was stabbed and burned in her own home.
The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department was dispatched to a home in the 1100 block of Melrose Avenue Thursday night on the report of a disturbance and found the injured woman.
The suspect, who is related to the victim and was staying in the home overnight, was arrested at the scene and lodged in the Kalamazoo County Jail on the charge of attempted murder, torture, and false imprisonment.
The case remains under investigation and township police say will be forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Office for review.
