KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Ministry With Community will be, once again, holding one of the more-unusual annual holiday events in Kalamazoo.
Their “Underwear Open House” will be held Monday to collect socks, underwear and gently used gloves, scarves, and other winter accessories.
Officials with the agency say they want the homeless stay warm this winter.
“(We’re asking for) new, still-in-the-packaging underwear, long underwear, hats, gloves, scarves, and all that really critical stuff that you need in the winter,” director Rob Oakleaf said.
Oakleaf also said long underwear donations are particularly helpful.
The open house will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence Education Center on the on the Borgess Medical Center campus.
