BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A newborn colobus monkey is getting comfortable at its new home at the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek.
Usi was born in April and is the second monkey of the same genus to be birthed at the facility in the past decade, boosting the colobus count to five.
Zoo visitors can see the seven-month-old in the monkey exhibit this spring.
Meanwhile, the zoo is using the occasion to sell $45 “adoption” packages, which include a certificate and a plush monkey. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be put toward zoo operations.
