CHARLESTON TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s detectives need your help locating a man who is wanted for committing a home invasion in the 1500 block of North 37th Street in Charleston Township a week ago.
A neighbor spotted the suspect, who has been identified as 23-year-old Mitchell Fletcher, entering the home while a female accomplice waited in a nearby vehicle.
A deputy arrived in time to engage the couple in a chase that ended when the Neon went off the road into a swamp off Gleason Street.
“He may be armed,” Undersheriff Pauli Matyas said. “He may be armed and he is dangerous.”
Matyas says 26-year-old Lindsey Coppersmith, the woman inside the vehicle, has been charged and freed on bond.
He also said investigators don’t believe he has left the community.
“I think he’s either in the Pavilion Trailer Park or in Comstock along Michigan Avenue,” Matyas said.
