CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A father, mother, and daughter are safe after their vehicle rolled over in a crash in Cass County on Saturday, February 19.
Authorities say it happened around 4:18 p.m. on Marcellus Highway, east of Gards Prairie in Volinia Township.
Investigation showed that the driver, 25-year-old Austin Glen Hiser of Marcellus, was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle while passing another motorist. Hiser’s vehicle left the roadway, rolled over and struck an American Electric Power Electrical Pole, breaking it away from the ground.
Hiser was able to get his passengers safely from the vehicle, 23-year-old Karly Simpson of Marcellus who is 34 weeks pregnant, along with their 4-year-old daughter Charlotte, both injured in the crash.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reporting that drugs and alcohol were not factors, and that seatbelts and a child restraint seat were used during the crash.
