BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly beating his wife, then dropping her off at the emergency room at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
The woman arrived at the ER on Saturday.
Christopher Carpenter was formally charged Monday. Because he had been charged with assaulting his wife previously, the judge decided to deny bond.
Investigators say the two got into an argument over allegations of infidelity, which ended in violence. They claim he agreed to drive her to the hospital, but only if she agreed to tell authorities that she was beaten by a group of women.
Carpenter was arrested soon after his wife’s arrival at the hospital.
