OSHTEMO, TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One of the two suspects wanted in the armed robbery of the Dunham’s store on West Main Street Thursday night was arrested Friday on unrelated charges.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department says while the man was being interviewed for the other crime, he confessed to committing the armed robbery at the store in Oshtemo Township.
Police are still looking for a female involved in the armed robbery. She is described as a white woman standing at about 5’1″ tall with brown-red dyed hair. The sheriff’s office said she was wearing heavy makeup, a long leather jacket, a gray shirt, jeans and boots.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department says around 7:15 p.m. Thursday, a man and a woman entered the store and went to the hunting gear area. There, the man forced an employee into a bathroom and then pulled out a handgun. The pair then reportedly told the employee to stay there and took his keys, which gave them access to the gun counter.
Police did not release what was taken from the store.
