HOLLAND (WKZO-AM) — Less than 24 hours after allegedly gunning down a man and a woman in Holland, the body of the suspected shooter, a 51-year-old Zeeland man, was found in a parked vehicle at the Lao Buddhist Temple on Holland’s north side on Tuesday.
Sheriff’s deputies believe that Bounthavee Nerasin killed himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. The house of worship had been surrounded earlier that day after Nerasin’s parked vehicle was spotted.
On Monday, the bodies of 37-year-old Mani Khounvongsa and 40-year-old Gilberto Andrade-Pena were found at an apartment on Stratford Way.
“The suspect came into the residence specifically targeting those two individuals,” Holland Public Safety Capt. Jack Dykstra said. “There were other individuals in the apartment that were not harmed.”
Dykstra wouldn’t comment on reports that Khounvongsa was a mistress of Nerasin, who was married, or on any possible motive for the double-shooting.
