LANSING (WKZO-AM) — The Michigan Legislature won’t be meeting until next Tuesday, but local Reps. Brant Iden and David Maturen will be huddling with local officials Friday to talk about next year’s budget and the implications it will have on local programs.
Roads, for example, will be discussed.
Iden, R-Oshtemo, says they have sent out invitations to meet at the Homebuilders Association.
“We’re very excited,” Iden said. “We’re bringing chairman Al Pscholka in to talk about the 2016 budget.”
Like Schools, local governments have also taken a hit in funding due to reductions in revenue sharing since the beginning of Gov. Rick Snyder’s first term.
“He’s promised to bring lots of material down and get a lot of questions answered for us,” Iden said. “So, I’m looking forward to it.”
