LANSING (WKZO-AM) — Gov. Rick Snyder says he’s disappointed legislators could not approve a package of state energy reforms this year.
It was one of the governor’s biggest priorities in 2015. Now, Snyder says it’ll be one of his biggest priorities in 2016.
“We’re still on a positive path to get there,” Snyder said. “The whole roads and transportation discussion occupied a lot of time and resources during the course of the year, so some of these things got pushed back a little bit more than I would have liked.”
The goals will remain generally the same.
“Affordability, reliability and environmental sustainability,” Snyder said. “That would be good for all Michigan citizens.”
House negotiations stalled over how to encourage renewable energy growth and whether to continue to allow in-state customers to buy out-of-state power.
