CENTREVILLE (WKZO-AM) — A St. Joseph County judge had to declare a mistrial in a sexual conduct case after 13 prospective jurors opted to not show up for jury duty.
Now, it will be the scofflaws who will have to face the judge for show-cause hearings to explain themselves. If they miss those court dates, a warrant could be issued charging them with contempt of court.
Trial for the suspect is being rescheduled.
