BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Police in Battle Creek are looking for a man who robbed a cell phone store employee at gunpoint.
The thief was wearing a mask and a hooded sweatshirt when he confronted the worker late Saturday, moments after the shop closed for the night. Police say the robber struck the victim in the face with a gun and demanded the employee’s money.
The victim didn’t get a good look at the robber, but gave a vivid description of the silver semi-automatic handgun that was used to commission the crime.
The victim was not injured. Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies brought in a K9 to track the robber, who fled the scene on foot, but the dog lost the scent.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Battle Creek Police Department at (269) 966-3375 or Silent Observer at (269) 781-9700.
